How to create a movie poster screen for a home cinema

A home cinema movie poster screen can be a tablet, TV browser, wall monitor, mini PC or Raspberry Pi kiosk display that opens a secure Poster Player display link.

Choose the display

The display can be a portrait monitor outside the cinema room, a tablet beside the seating area, a TV browser display, a mini PC screen or a Raspberry Pi kiosk display.

Use a browser link

Poster Player is browser-based. The display opens a secure link, so it does not need a heavy local application or powerful computer attached to the screen.

Add the local bridge

The lightweight local bridge runs inside the local network and detects source playback state where available. It can then pass live playback status to Poster Player.

Show Play Now or Coming Soon

When something is playing, the screen can show movie artwork and metadata. When idle, it can switch to a Coming Soon poster display with rotating artwork.

Keep source expectations realistic

Zidoo can provide strong local playback context where available. Apple TV can work through a local bridge, but protected apps may limit detailed metadata. Poster Player uses fallback visual states where full details are not available.
